DOING BUSINESS SMARTER!

Welcome to the first edition of 'Doing Business Smarter!' As the owner of Virtual Staffing Source, I know what it is like to be in business competing in the huge world of enterprise. One thing that I recognize is the more I interact with other business owners, the further ahead I am progressing in my endeavors. The exchange of ideas and energies with other entrepreneurs has been the springboard to some of our best work. Therefore, I am introducing the 'Doing Business Smarter! ' blog: A virtual enchange of ideas and my assignment to assist my business peers and partners in their entrepreneurial efforts.

This blog will feature tips on doing business perhaps differently than many traditional organizations. Many successful companies are working outside the box and generating enormous wealth. One thing this economy has proven, is that it is time for change. Today's business owners have to think and operate differently than our predecessors. Doing so may be the very thing that moves your company a step ahead of the competition; or it may be the saving grace to avoiding layoffs. In this blog, we will consider new ways to get ahead in business.

Doing business smarter requires that the business owner is fully aware of what is available when it comes to technology, internet and critical information. This site will be an educational ground for some of the most recent and widely used industry advances. It will serve as a tool of training to highlight new internet products and services geared to help you get ahead. This week, I want to showcase Facebook, a site that Virtual Staffing Source is currently utilizing to stay in touch with clients. We received our first order from a customer through Facebook!

This blog will also highlight our partnering companies. We are fortunate to service many star organizations that are making a difference in the Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh areas. This will be a format for their introduction so that you the reader are aware of the services and products that they offer to the general public and other organizations.

Being a successful business owner requires a great level of faith. This is the media that I choose to use to celebrate, laugh and encourage others to stay in the entrepreneurial field, remain strong and prosper. I hope to make it the dialog that lightens your day.

The 'Doing Business Smarter!' blog will initially be sent out to over 1500 individuals and company owners in the Tampa Bay and Pittsburgh areas. There are advertising and partnering opportunities to feature your business offerings. If you are interested in being highlighted or would like to be an advertiser, please contact our office at 813-770-7490.

I look forward to working with you as we do business smarter in 2010!

HOW CAN A BUSINESS BENEFIT FROM USING FACEBOOK?

Do you know that there are several social network sites that can work for your company by generating sales and business? One of the more popular sites is Facebook. This network has the potential of turning a small local business into a global giant. The best description of Facebook is provided by the developers of the program.

Facebook was founded in February 2004, as a social utility that helps people communicate more efficiently with their friends, family and coworkers. The company develops technologies that facilitate the sharing of information through the social graph, the digital mapping of people's real-world social connections. Anyone can sign up for Facebook and interact with people they know in a trusted environment.

There are more than 400 million active users on Facebook. On a given day 50% of active users log onto Facebook. The average user has 130 friends. People spend over 500 billion minutes per month on Facebook.

There are over 160 million objects that people interact with (pages, groups and events). The average user is connected to 60 pages, groups and events. The average user creates 70 pieces of content each month. More than 25 billion pieces of content is shared each month.

There are 70 translations available on the site. Approximately 70% of Facebook users are outside the United States. Over 300,000 users helped translate the site through the translation application.

Every business owner should take advantage of this FREE GLOBAL marketing arena. Setting up a simple fan page will provide exposure for the company and begin to build an audience of potential customers. With Facebook, the company will be able to offer its products and services to individuals across the globe. In addition, they will be able to build a relationship with their targeted audience by providing updates and exchanging dialog on the site.

Facebook is a perfect place to:
  • Receive orders
  • Educate on services
  • Advertise products
  • Promote specials
  • Announce hiring opportunities
  • Build brand recognition.

If you are a business owner, who has not yet set up your company's social network profiles, give Virtual Staffing Source a call. We will set your profiles up for Facebook and several other sites so that you can become a major player in the internet's global marketplace. We also have a maintenance program to keep your information in front of your customers.

WE WALK BY FAITH NOT BY SIGHT!

As business leaders, we must recognize that it takes great faith to achieve success. There is a trust that we must build with the Almighty that knowing every step and decision is being guided by Him.

It is in our very nature to want to review facts and analyze every single detail before making a decision. However, as leaders, we must learn to depend on the spirit of God and at times walk by faith to go to the level of success He has in store for our lives. This is not always easy. Especially when you are sooooo used to being in charge! Second Corinthians 5:7 tells us to walk by faith not by sight. This principle applies even as we conduct our business.
As a leader climbs the ladder of success, it will become more and more evident that their ability to depend on God is more relevant than their education, their experiences or their skills. We will have to be prepared to meet daily challenges with the faith of warrior, knowing that we will come out of the battle victoriously. In order to do so, we must keep our eyes on the one who is guiding them, the one who is the ultimate decision maker...God.
